4 - Flyball: How to add fun to your dogs life!

Image
Flyball - Fun for your Dog and the whole Family What is Flyball? I hear you ask! I asked myself the same question when I saw a Flyball demo advertised at a Doggy Funday I was photographing earlier this year.  In short, Flyball is a very fast paced doggy relay sport, in which t wo teams of four dogs compete at the same time, each using a parallel 'racing lane' with 4 jumps, down which each dog in turn runs, triggering a pedal on the Flyball box, releasing a tennis ball, which the dog has to carry back down to the start, before the next dog starts .   Click here for the full explanation and rules on the Kennel Club website. As I mentioned, my first experience of Flyball was a demo at a doggy funshow earlier this year. I was instantly amazed by these dogs and found the demo very interesting. Great to see all kind of different breeds taking part as well. At competitions you will mainly see Border Collies running, but you will also see every other breed from Spa

Outtakes and bloopers Need I say more :-) This is the funny part everyone loves to see!  Although most of the photos you see on my website , Facebook , Instagram and other Social Media sites may look anything from cute, to stunning and seamless, on the outside. But believe me it takes a of doggie and horsey slobbers, face pulling, funny noise making, convincing, sense of humour and most important of all, patience, to get the shots you see online. So, if you’re one of the people thinking of booking a photo session, but worried that your pet/horse won’t play ball, enjoy the following images and be assured pretty much everyone is in the same boat! End of the day it's all about having fun and enjoying the experience. Let's dive right in, these are my favourite outtakes and bloopers of 2017! When your sister is obsessed with ears........ Don't worry I survived this vicious photo bombing attack! If you have an itch, you have an itch! These 3

Hello again and thanks for checking out my new blog post. In my last blog  I wrote about the fact that dogs don't have to sit perfectly still to take amazing photo's. If you have read it, thank you very much, I hope you liked it. If you haven't seen the blog , have a read and let me know what you think. On my website  I explain the three steps to my pet (and equine) photography session in short.  In today's blog, I would like to go into more detail about my photo sessions and how they work.  Step 1 - Booking an appointment Booking an appointment couldn't be easier, you can contact me in various ways, either by email iska@iskasimages.co.uk , the contact page on my website  (you'll find my phone number on the contact page as well), or through my Facebook page . I offer complementary consultations either in person or via a phone call, during the consultation we speak about a few things, for example what you are hoping to get out of the session, which locat

1 - My dog won't sit still....

Hello and welcome to my Blog! I thought I'd write my first Blog around a few things I hear quite a lot from dog owners:  'My dog won't sit still long enough for a photo!' 'My dog gets very excited around people he/she doesn't know!' 'I can never get him/her to behave when I try to take a photo! ' 'My dog can't be off lead!'   These two beautiful Labradors Kira and Rocky, were two of five Labs I Photographed for the owner. I can tell you, they were not sitting still for 2 seconds, but we still managed to get photos with a wow factor. Are you one of the dog owners that is put off arranging a professional photo session for your dog, because you are worried he/she might not be on his/her best behaviour? Please don't be, and here is why: The photos, no matter how mad or crazy your dog is, will show his/her personality and will be the ones you will fall in love with, regardless if your dog is sitting perfec
